Do people communicate anymore? I mean do they really have a full blown conversation and not the kind that takes place via text? Or does it seem like there just isn’t time for it? I can’t say that I’m in the minority here. Often, I will send a quick text before resorting to what could turn into a long drawn out conversation about the weather. But that’s just because I’m not much for small talk I guess. I definitely wouldn’t say that I’m consumed with my smartphone or stressed because of it, or am I?

While on a dinner date over the weekend, a couple next to us were on their phones. They also appeared to be on some sort of night out, without the kiddos in tow that’s for sure. Yet there was no sort of engagement in conversation. Unless of course they were messaging each other across the table! It really makes me wonder, what could be so fantasizing on that phone. Or have you ever been around someone that checks their phone constantly? Like they may have missed an extremely important call since two seconds ago when they last looked at it. Apparently, I didn’t hear it ring but you did? Oh nope, false alarm, again nothing, better check the weather to look important this time. Geezz! What has technology done to us?

You could say that Smartphone users are definitely more informed, whether it be with friends and family because of social networking sites such as Facebook or because of all the resources we have available about business and products. We’re able to find almost anything we need, anywhere and, for the most part, pretty fast.

A recent study shows that Smartphone users are even making calls and purchases right from the bathroom. Talk about making the most of the time you have available! But, then again, constantly trying to keep up with social networking sites and all the latest and greatest apps there are to search through can be exhausting.

You would think that with all the information at our fingertips it would allow for a more relaxed lifestyle. Yet imagine this… we’re still stressed . So what’s one to do?

Never fear, the same device that got you into this mess can just as easily get you out of it. There happens to be several stress management apps available that help users learn breathing techniques to lower their stress. Just in case (you never know when you might need it!) I downloaded the free app from Breathe2Relax .

If that’s not enough, give Oneupweb a call. We would love to take a few things off of your plate to help assist in the stress reduction process!
